Toyota approaches Silverstone with ambition

At Silverstone, Toyota Racing ne fera rouler qu’une seule TS030, la n°7, qui sera confiée à Alexander Wurz, Nicolas lapierre et Kazuki Nakajima. The Japanese manufacturer carried out two days of preparation at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain (August 14-15) to test a new aerodynamic package, which will be used this weekend on the British track.

« We are impatient to return to competition following this long break after Le Mans, explains Yoshiaki Kinoshita, President of the Toyota team. We took advantage of this period both to recharge our batteries after a tough preparation for Le Mans, and to prepare an evolution of the TS030 Hybrid, which ran well during our test last week. We learned a lot from our experience at Le Mans, which showed that we have the potential to fight at the front in WEC. We head to Silverstone very motivated to achieve a strong result: we are ready to race again and we can't wait to see how our hybrid technology performs on this circuit. »

At Le Mans, Nicolas Lapierre took first place against Audi during a perfectly run stint. Even if the Toyota performed well during its last appearance in the race, the Frenchman does not know what to expect for the second official outing of the TS030. “ Time has passed since Le Mans, but my memories of the moment I took charge are still very present, adds Lapierre. It was a great adventure and it can inspire us to give our all at Silverstone. From the work done in the TMG driving simulator, plus our test in Aragon, I think we can be really competitive. It?s impossible to say exactly where we stand compared to our main rivals, but we are constantly learning and improving.
