Toyota in trouble in Mexico

Stéphane Sarrazin went off the track at the wheel of the No. 6 Toyota during collective testing for the 6 Hours of Mexico. Timo Bernhard was the fastest in the session in the #1 Porsche.

Toyota in trouble in Mexico

While the paddock of WEC trained at the new track of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez which is hosting the 6 Hours of Mexico this weekend during a collective testing session, Stéphane Sarrazin caused a red flag by leaving the track at the wheel of there Toyota n°6 that he shares with Mike conway et Kamui Kobayashi after spinning in the last corner.

If the Frenchman emerged unscathed from the accident, the TS050 Hybrid suffered significant damage to the front and rear. The monohull being affected, the day is over for number 6. The team is embarking on a nice bit of mechanics so that the car is ready before the third free practice session tomorrow morning.

Timo Bernhard set the best time of the session with a time of 1'26''847 on the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°1. The German beat the Audi R18 by Loïc duval which preceded the second Porsche led by Romain Dumas, while the second Audi completed the leading quartet.

René Rast was fastest in the LMP2 field in the No. 05 G-Drive Racing Oreca 26-Nissan. Gianmaria Bruni established the first GTE Pro benchmark on the Ferrari 488 n°51 of AF Corse, while it was Wolf Henzler who set the best time in GTE Am at the wheel of the KCMG Porsche 911 RSR.
