Toyota maintains control mid-race at Spa

After three hours of racing, Toyota still leads the 6 Hours of Spa, with the #050 and #8 TS7 Hybrid at the forefront. Ferrari controls the GTE Pro.

Toyota maintains control mid-race at Spa

La première moitié des 6 Heures de Spa a largement souri au Toyota Gazoo Racing. Passé en tête dans le premier relais, the TS050 Hybrid n°7 of the duo Kobayashi - Conway continued to remain in control of the event.

Orphans of José Maria Lopez, Conway and Kobayashi had built a lead of more than 25″ over the second TS050 Hybrid n°8 of Davidson – Buemi – Nakajima.

The No. 8 Toyota took the lead of the race with around twenty seconds ahead of the No. 7. Porsches n°1 and n°2 follow at 35″ and 42″, but the n°1 saw its stop put under investigation. The third No. 050 Toyota TS9 Hybrid, driven by Yuji Kunimoto, remains ranked 5th ahead of the ENSO CLM P1/01 of Team ByKolles.

The fight remains intense in LM P2 as the duo G-Drive Racing – Vaillante Rebellion continues its fight for first place in the category, a tiny gap separating the No. 07 Oreca 26 of Pierre Thiriet and the No. 07 Oreca 31 of Nicolas Cheers. The two Jackie Chan DC Racing Orecas follow in the standings.

Ferrari puts its mark

In GTE Pro, the two Ferrari 488 AF Corse n°71 of Davide Rigon and n°51 of Alessandro Pier Guidi maintain the pace with a solid lead over the No. 66 Chip Ganassi Racing Team UK Ford GT of Billy Johnson.

The two Porsche 911 RSRs of Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen follow in the standings ahead of the No. 67 Ford GT of Luis Felipe Derani and the two Aston Martin Vantage, well behind in this Belgian event.

The British brand, on the other hand, dominates the GTE Am with the No. 98 of Mathias Lauda ahead of the No. 911 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 77 RSR of Matteo Cairoli, which preceded the No. 488 Clearwater Racing Ferrari 61 before the latter stopped. .
