“A decision will be made by April 15” for the date of the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO, assures that there will be a 2020 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans despite the context of Covid-19. It remains to be seen the exact date of the test, which could be postponed.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans will they be organized on the weekend of June 13 and 14, 2020? Doubt looms, due to the coronavirus epidemic and the sports blackout in the four corners of the world and in France. 

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has already been forced to postpone the Sarthe motorcycle double clock, from April 18-19 to September 5-6. The four-wheel version could suffer the same fate.

Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO, explains this Monday March 16, give yourself a month of reflection. “A decision will be made by April 15. We are carefully monitoring the evolution of the various directives from the authorities. » 

Cancellation is however to be excluded. “In all cases, we are confident we will organize the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans.”

For now, one round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) has been canceled (the 1 Miles of Sebring end of March) and another trip is postponed (the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at the end of April).
