This is probably one of the most incredible videos of the year. A few hours later the announcement of the record for the lap of the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring (Germany) in 5'19''546, Porsche broadcast the 20,8 km lap from the cockpit of the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo on Friday. Timo Bernhard's driving is remarkable:
The 300 km/h barrier is happily exceeded on several occasions, despite the proximity of the rails and the dangerousness of the “Green Hell”. As a reminder, the German prototype develops nearly 1 horsepower for only 200 kg!

Timo Bernhard went 52 seconds faster than the previous record holder, the late Stefan Bellof. The latter had covered the 20 terminals of the 6'11"13 Germanic route in 1982, behind the wheel of a Porsche 962 C.

This record is registered as part of the Porsche 919 Hybrid farewell tour. The proto, triple winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans (Sarthe) between 2015 and 2017, had won 17 victories in 34 races, 20 poles and 13 fastest laps in the World Championship.Endurance (WEC). The car will then go to the manufacturer's museum in Stuttgart (Germany).
