Toyota Gazoo Racing finally won the 24 Hours of Le Mans on his 20th attempt, thanks to the trio Kazuki Nakajima - Sébastien Buemi - Fernando Alonso, aligned with the TS050 Hybrid n°8. The Japanese brand can finally erase its failures in Sarthe, notably that of 2016.
In GTE Pro, Porsche signed the double with the two 911 RSR “Pink Pig” n°92 and “Rothmans” n°91, with the crews Estre – Vanthoor – Christensen and Makowiecki – Bruni – Lietz. Porsche also won in GTE Am with the 911 RSR – Dempsey – Proton Racing of Julien Andlauer, Christian Ried, Matt Campbell.
Only the result in LM P2 is not yet fully recorded, because if the No. 07 Oreca 26 – G-Drive Racing de Vergne – Pizzitola – Rusinov won on the track, the prototype hatched by TDS Racing was excluded after arrival for a technical non-confirmation on the refueling system, at the restrictor level. Signatech Alpine could recover the victory on the green carpet, if the expected appeal from G-Drive confirms the first decision.
