WEC – 6H Spa: Toyota reassured itself before Le Mans

After the Silverstone double, Toyota scored another victory yesterday at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with a new success for the No. 040 TS8 of Lapierre-Buemi-Davidson who won in front of the Audi n°1 of Duval-Kristensen-Di Grassi. Started in second position on the grid behind the Porsche n°14 by Neel Jani, Nicolas lapierre took the advantage in the pits and gradually increased its lead over the 919 Hybrid before the latter lost almost a lap following electrical problems.

This success allows the crew of the No. 8 to increase its lead at the top of the Championship with 16 points ahead of that of the No. 7 composed of Nakajima-Wurz-Sarrazin, but above all it allows the team to maintain your motivation as you approach 24 Hours of Le Mans June 15 and 16. ?It?s a very good result for the whole team. Since the start of the weekend we have done what was necessary. We were able to verify here that our Le Mans package works well and that the hybrid system has been perfect. We are very happy with this result, it?s the best way to prepare for Le Mans?, comments Nicolas Lapierre. “ This season is the first in which I lead a World Championship”, adds his teammate Anthony Davidson. ?It?s great to have two cars on the podium. Now our attention must turn to the big meeting in June. I am confident in the package we have and in the team around us. It seems like we're in great shape at the right time. »
