WEC – EL2: Flood on the Circuit of the Americas

A veritable deluge fell on Austin around twenty minutes after the start of the second free practice session for the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas, fifth round of the WEC. In such conditions, no competitor ventured outside. The two cars to have completed the most laps are the Toyota TS030Hybrid n°8 and the Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°2 with 10 loops covered. On the clock, it is the Japanese LM P1 which has the advantage with a time of 2'00"756 signed by the Briton Anthony Davidson. The Scotsman Allan McNish (Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°2) follows at 3”311 and the Swiss Marcel Fässler (Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°1) at 4 »431. The best times in the LM P2, GTE Pro and GTE Am categories are respectively to the credit of the Oreca 03-Nissan G-Drive Racing of Australian John Martin (2'10"989), ofAston Martin Vantage n°99 of Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki (2'17"806) and the Aston Martin Vantage n°96 of Briton Jamie Campbell-Walter (2'18"136).

As a reminder, after having already set the best time of the two sessions ofcollective tests here, Loïc duval (Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°2) did it again this morning during the first free practice session.
