WEC – G-Drive Racing sees double in 2015

G-Drive Racing is holding on to its missed title last year in WEC. The Franco-Russian team will field a second Ligier JS P2 in 2015 to increase its chances of success.

Sam Bird will replace Olivier Pla (left for Nissan) on the No. 26 alongside Roman Rusinov and Julien Canal, while the sister car No. 28 will be entrusted to a South American crew with Gustavo Yacama, Ricardo Gonzalez and Luis Felipe Derani.

“For this second year with G-Drive Racing, we are really keen to win the title which so narrowly escaped us in 2014”, recalled Philippe Dumas, Team Principal of G-Drive Racing. « We of course remain faithful to the Ligier JS P2, which has proven its extreme competitiveness, and we have two excellent crews. The competition promises to be very serious within a very rich LMP2 field, with the arrival of new teams and new cars. But the challenge is all the more interesting and victory is our only goal! »

G-Drive Racing lost the LMP2 title to SMP Racing last year following an accident by Olivier Pla at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo (Brazil), the Frenchman having been betrayed by the breakage of the front upper suspension triangle. right.
