WEC-H+3: the #17 Porsche alone in the lead at the Nürburgring

Porsche only one car left in the lead of the race after the 3rd hour of racing at the Nürburgring (Germany). The 919 Hybrid No. 18 received several “stop & go” following excessive fuel consumption due to a faulty calculation of the car. Romain Dumas thus finds himself in 4th position, despite everything retaining the advantage over the Toyota. It is now the Porsche n°17 driven by Timo Bernhard which occupies the lead of the race in front of the two Audis.

KCMG regained the lead in LMP2 with Matthew Howson still at the wheel of the Oreca 05 which precedes the two Ligier JS P2s of G-Drive Racing and the Morgan of Team SARD Morand.

Si the 911 RSR n°91 retains the lead in GTE Pro with Richard Lietz, the battle for 2nd place is lively between AF Corse and Team Manthey. Davide Rigon, at the wheel of the Ferrari n°71, resisted the return of Frédéric Makowiecki's n°92. But the two drivers stupidly stuck together under the "full course yellow" regime following the loss of the rear wing of the CLM01. The F458 Italia suffered slight damage (rear wheel friction) and quickly lost 2nd place to the Porsche.

The fight for the lead in GTE Am is between theAston Martin n°98 of Mathias Lauda and the Dempsey – Proton Racing Porsche of Patrick Long.
