If the long-awaited announcement on the technical regulations of the LMDh could not be made as planned due to the cancellation of the SuperSebring, it should be made shortly.

WEC – IMSA: The LMDh regulation delayed… but soon confirmed

Since the announcement of the convergence in January, on the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Daytona, the ACO and theIMSA – notably via their respective technical managers Thierry Bouvet and Simon Hodgson – continue to work in the shadows… and by videoconference since the United States closed its borders.

If it is often said that the last tenths are the hardest to find, there would only be a few details left to refine. Thus, manufacturers should indeed receive the “final” version of the LMDh regulation in the coming days, with some of them clamoring for it to start working or present the project to their board of directors.

Among them are probably Peugeot – launched into a project Le Mans Hypercar but which does not exclude changing its approach – and Porsche, who once again expressed his interest through the manager of his factory sports programs Pascal Zürlinden:

« Mr. Michael Steiner, member of the board, asked us to carry out a study to see what could be done, affirms the latter, confirming what the same Michael Steiner had declared in our columns (see Ah n°2253). Porsche is seriously considering it, but no decision has been made. To date, the regulation (LMDh. Editor’s note) has not been released, but I think it is delayed by a few days because the ACO and IMSA are teleworking. »

Come on, we're almost there...
