WEC – The Corvette-Larbre duo ready to make their return

Significantly absent from the 2014 edition of the World ChampionshipEndurance, the Larbre Compétition team is about to make its return in WEC. And this associated with Corvette, with which it triumphed in GTE Am in 2012. In accordance with what is announced in the columns of AUTO n°1997hebdo (available here in digital version as well as on newsstands), his boss Jack Leconte has in fact reached an agreement with Mark Kent, head of the sports branch of the American brand, to field a C7.R in the GTE Am category.

As for the drivers, two of the three lucky ones are already known. These are the Italians Gianluca Roda and Paolo Ruberti, seen notably in the past at Proton Competition and 8Star Motorsports. If the entry lists in WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans will be revealed tomorrow shortly after 15 p.m., it is a safe bet that the Val de Vienne circuit team, to win a fourth category victory in the Sarthe, will have to overcome, among other things, the teams Aston Martin Racing, AF Corse or even Proton Competition. The WEC, in any case, must already be rubbing its hands at the idea of seeing a “Vette” again among its contingent of entrants.
