WEC / Le Mans – Tests completed for Porsche and Hülkenberg

Nico Hulkenberg completed his first tests at Motorland Aragon (Spain) at the wheel of the Porsche 919 Hybrid with which he will compete in the 6 Hours of Spa (Belgium, May 2) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Pays de la Loire, June 13 and 14). The German, who will compete in his second season in a row with Force India next year, was able to complete a total of 155 rounds over the two days of testing and ride at night to prepare for the Le Mans event.

“A lot of new experiences in a short time but I feel 100% positive”, assured Nico Hülkenberg. “The 919 is fantastic to drive. It has plenty of downforce in fast corners and the hybrid power coming out of slow corners is impressive. My preparation on the simulator was very realistic and I really enjoyed riding at night. I can't wait to do some more tests and obviously go to Le Mans. »

But the German was not the only one on the track since he was playing alongside Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard, as well as GT drivers Michael Christensen, Frédéric Makowiecki and Nick Tandy. The drivers of the Stuttgart manufacturer completed a total of 2731km. “The conditions in Aragon were good, apart from a few gusts of wind,” said Andreas Seidl, Team Principal. “It was important to give Nico an opportunity to drive the 919 fast enough. He got used to it very quickly and achieved what we expected of him by evolving like a world-class driver. His personality also fits our team and Porsche. This was the second experience for the GT drivers and they did a very good job. Brendon and Timo brought their knowledge to the other drivers. These days were very positive for us and it was the last outing of our first prototype after this superb season. We are now focusing on the 2015 car.”
