WEC – The Rebellion R-One project on schedule

A leading private team in LM P1, Rebellion Racing will always be active in the premier category ofEndurance l’année prochaine.

Only official driver for the moment, Nicolas Cheers recently visited the Var to give his opinion on the driving position and the ergonomics of the cockpit. Note that the cockpit has been placed on the left, to guarantee better visibility. When it comes to aerodynamics, the overall concept is fixed, but engineers continue to work on the details. “The design is taking place according to the schedule set in agreement with Rebellion Racing, explains Christophe Guibbal, director of the design office in charge of the R-One project at ORECA. We did not encounter any setbacks during this period which is always decisive in the construction of a new car. The integration of the block into the chassis is finalized, as is the production of the parts that require the most time and the production phase, starting with the molds, has therefore begun. It's an exciting time: we've had the opportunity to explore many avenues and we're now eager to move on to the next level. »

And Rebellion Racing team manager Bart Hayden continues: “We are happy that the project is on schedule. Our engineers work closely with the ORECA team dedicated to the R-One project and the drivers are already involved in elements of design validation, as evidenced by the definition of the interior ergonomics in the chassis model. We are already thinking about the organization for the integration of mechanics into the assembly of the cars at the beginning of next year and are targeting the first run around mid-March. It's a tight timeline, but it's achievable and we're focused on that goal. »

As a reminder, three chassis will be designed, a reserve one added to the two fielded by the Swiss team in the World Endurance Championship.
