WEC – Oak Racing in battle order before Silverstone

They will bear the numbers 24, 35 and 45. They are the three Morgan LM P2s entered by OAK Racing and designed by Onroak Automotive, the manufacturer department of the French team. After a long winter break, these three cars are preparing to get back to serious business this weekend, at the opening of the World Championship.Endurance (WEC) at Silverstone.

As a reminder, the French pilot Olivier Pla, the Briton Alex Brundle and the Dane David Heinemeier Hansson will team up in the #24 Morgan. The Belgian Bertrand Baguette, the British Martin Plowman and the Mexican Ricardo Gonzalez will share the steering wheel of the n°35. These two crews are entered for all eight events in the WEC this season. To carry high the traditional black and pink colors of the Le Mans team, they will be supported during the first three crashes of the year by two gentlemen drivers: Jean-Marc Merlin and Jacques Nicolet. Together, they will constitute the solid crew of the No. 45.

“The off-season has been very long, because we start again a month later than in previous years, and we are all motivated, both the team and the drivers”, comments Sébastien Philippe, Team Principal of OAK Racing. “We have had time to prepare and I hope that it will bear fruit from the first round of the World Championship. The Castellet tests went very well, which allows us to be optimistic, but the field was not complete and the level promises to be exceptional. However, I hope that the weather will be dry because even if the Morgan-Nissan LM P2 behaves well in the rain, this would avoid the lottery part that rain inevitably brings to a race. Either way, we're all eager to get back on track! »
