There will be a hell of a lot of stars in the Le Mans Virtual Series 2021-22. The virtual competition organized by the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and Motorsport Games on the PC platform rFactor 2 revealed its entry list on Tuesday September 14.
One year after the successful Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans, the championship established over five races from September 2021 to January 2022 attracted many renowned names from the real world and simracing scenes among the 177 competitors spread across 38 teams.
The world champion of Formula 1 in 2009 with BrawnGP, Jenson Button, is undoubtedly the best known name. Leader in IndyCar before the last two events, Alex Palou will also be present, as will the unfortunate heroes of the last double clock tower at Le Mans, Yife Ye and Louis Delétraz, separated in the virtual world.
We will also find actors from rallycross with Andreas Bakkerud and Timmy Hansen, Tourism with Esteban Guerrieri and even Super GT with Joao Paulo de Oliveira.
There will be many French people in their simulator. There are a whopping three teams: R8G Esports, the team of Romain Grosjean, Race Clutch Alpine and Panis Racing.
In LM P2, we will see drivers Tom Dillmann, Victor Martins, Arthur Rougier as well as Pierre-Louis Chevet and Simon Pilate in GTE Pro. Simracers Thibault Cazaubon, Jeremy Bouteloup, Quentin Vialatte and Florian Lebigre are also announced.
