Alonso: “End on a positive note”

Fernando, what are your feelings after a Brazilian Grand Prix which was very brief for you…
It was a real shame not to be able to complete a lap, because I think we could have scored points at Interlagos. I had a good start, unfortunately, when Sutil and Trulli collided, I too was hit by the Force India. It's really frustrating, because Interlagos is a circuit that I really like, and I think we could have had a good performance there.

Are you looking forward to racing in Abu Dhabi for the first time?
New challenges are always interesting and the Abu Dhabi circuit looks impressive. It will be a new experience for all the drivers on the field and it will be important to maximize the runs during free practice. We will need to learn the circuit and find an advantage as quickly as possible. From what I have seen, the facilities at Yas Marina are impressive and this race will be great for the people of Abu Dhabi. We were there a few years ago for a roadshow and we know that fans of Formula 1 are very enthusiastic about this region.

This will be your last Grand Prix with Renault. Do you plan to complete this last event with the team on a positive note?
Absolutely. I want to end the season and my career with the Renault F1 Team with a superb result. This race will be full of emotion. I have so many wonderful memories with this team and I will say goodbye to friends who are very dear to me. Renault is one of the great teams in Formula 1 and I can't wait to fight with them on the circuits in the years to come.
