Ayrton Senna, already 17 years old

On May 1, 1994, Ayrton Senna disappeared at the San Marino GP in Italy at the wheel of his Williams Renault. At 34 years old, the Brazilian will have collected 41 victories and three world titles in the space of 11 seasons.

May 1, 1994 is a dark date in the history of F1. The San Marino GP, contested on the Imola circuit, will be marked by the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna.
