Valtteri Bottas won his first Grand Prix in Sochi by holding off Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari.

Bottas scores his first F1 victory in Sochi

Valtteri Bottas scored his first victory in F1 by winning the Russian GP in Sochi ahead of the Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. The Finn, 107th winner in the discipline, built his victory at the start by taking the best start in front of the SG70Hs. Despite the extension of the first stint of the quadruple world champion and strong pressure at the end of the race, the driver Mercedes retained the advantage by winning with a second ahead of the German.

Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) is the second Finn on the podium of this Grand Prix. The 2007 world champion was not worried by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), lacking performance in this race, who was never able to come and fight for the podium and who finished in 4th place.

Max Verstappen place the only one Red Bull still in the race to finish in the top five, without ever having been able to claim better. His teammate Daniel Ricciardo retired at the start of the race following a broken brake caliper while he was in 7th place.

The Force India achieve a nice group shot with Sergio Pérez 6th ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman achieves his best result in F1.

If Jolyon Palmer (Renault) retired in the first lap following contact from Romain Grosjean (Haas) under investigation by the stewards, having caused the safety car to enter the track only, Nico Hulkenberg had a great event to finish 8th after completing the longest first relay. The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 ahead of Felipe Massa (Williams) and Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso).

Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) arrived at the finish of his national event in 12th place behind Lance stroll (Williams). The Canadian could have claimed better if he had not spun on the first lap after contact with Nico Hülkenberg.

Kevin Magnussen (Haas) ranked 13th ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren). The Saubers of Marcus Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein complete the ranking. Fernando Alonso (McLaren) couldn’t even start following a mechanical problem.
