Button plans to stay at McLaren for a long time

Jenson Button can finally breathe since his contract extension was signed the day before McLaren's announcement, on December 10. The 2009 world champion was preferred to Kevin Magnussen demoted to reservist after his future was seriously doubted. Certain speculations notably evoked a departure of the Briton in Endurance toward Porsche who is closely interested in pilots F1 with the recruitment of Nico Hulkenberg for Spa (Belgium) and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
