Canal+ will continue to broadcast F1
According to The Team, Canal+ extended its contract to broadcast the F1 at least until 2020. The private channel would therefore have obtained an extension for the next seasons after being placed in competition with SFR Sport.
It was in 2013 that Canal+ became the main broadcaster in France after recovering the transmission rights from TF1 which broadcast the Grands Prix for free.
In the future, World Championship leaders may expand the types of content. Liberty Media, F1's new buyers replacing CVC, are particularly interested in digital platforms.
