Charles Leclerc after his retirement: “It hurts”

Charles Leclerc had all the cards in hand during the Spanish GP. Starting from pole and serene leader, the Monegasque lost everything after falling victim to the mechanics of his Ferrari F1-75. A turbo failure would be the cause of his retirement. Charles Leclerc lost the lead in the world championship at the expense of Max Verstappen, winner in Barcelona. Nevertheless, the Monegasque wanted to be positive after this hard blow, the first retirement of his season.

« I lost engine power. From there I had to stop because there was a problem. I don't know what the problem is yet. It hurts, but at the same time, there are plenty of positives. I think we've finally solved our tire degradation problems. Today, we have the answer we were looking for. I think we showed that we were very fast. Afterwards, we will have to look at this engine problem so that it does not come back during the year. That’s how it happens. We had no problems at the start of the year, it could happen to us too. The engineers have done a huge job to have a good package. We will analyze and try to come back better. The Monaco GP (May 29) will be important, as this one was and all the others are in a year like this when we play the championship. I hope to finally finish this Grand Prix at home. »
