Christian Horner: The angle of the vibrators is open to debate

The famous limits of the track still remain at the heart of debates in motorsport. Particularly “affected” by this factor in recent seasons, the Red Bull Ring had installed yellow “bananas” behind the usual vibrators, a sort of additional vibrator, clearly intended to penalize drivers who were a little too greedy.

Elements which prove to be quite dangerous for single-seaters, as evidenced by the numerous wing breakages yesterday during testing, notably at Renault, or even Red Bull. It was from the Austrian clan that the most virulent criticism came.

“We have left three front wings there so far, describes Team Principal Christian Horner on Sky Sports, in comments reported by Racefans. Probably around £250 worth of damage. But we are not alone in this situation. I'm sure we'll debate about the angle of these yellow triangles, such as they are. »

A criticism that can be considered valid from the point of view of team manager Christian Horner, but which must also be balanced.

At a time when asphalt clearances are increasingly replacing the traditional and much more dissuasive gravel traps, the solution of these "bananas" also appears to be one of the strongest for enforcing the famous limits of the track. Something to think about in the Red Bull clan.
