Christian Horner: “Progress is significant”

The British Grand Prix ends on a new podium thanks to Max Verstappen. Did he surprise you a little more?

Let's say that it was his overtaking maneuver on Nico Rosberg on the outside of the Becketts corner that amazed me. A big moment. For the rest, he was very competitive.

This Max is a rather rare kind of “animal”…

He's a great talent. He's so young... He's developing really well and is just going to get better and better... We're only beginning to guess the extent of his abilities.

Now that Red Bull Racing is back in the spotlight, can we say that the reconstruction will have been much more perilous than expected?

I prefer to speak of an “almost” return… We still have a way to go, but it is true that progress is significant. Likewise, I don't believe that the term "reconstruction" is the most appropriate since the team itself has not changed since 2014. We have a good chassis, the engine has made significant progress, and the combination of the two means we are in a much better position today...
