Claire Williams ready to succeed her father

These are the beginnings of a new era in Williams F1, one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula 1. It was in the air : Claire Williams has just been appointed deputy team principal of the British team. The daughter of Sir Frank Williams therefore comes to support her father with immediate effect in managing the development of the team. In addition to her new mission, she will at least retain her role as sales director for a while, which she has been fulfilling for several years now.

Having joined her father's stable in 2002 as press officer, Claire Williams is taking a significant first step here to take over in the future from her father at the head of the Grove team. “For the last decade Claire has worked tirelessly for Williams”, notes Sir Frank Williams. “Her knowledge of motorsport and her passion for the team is undeniable and I am proud to say that during her time here she has proven to be one of our most valuable assets. With Claire as Deputy Team Principal, I know that Williams' future is certainly in good hands. »

“I am truly honored by this new position and I look forward to working alongside Frank to help him run the team this season and beyond,” announced Claire Williams. “I grew up in the sport and learned the ropes from one of the most legendary team principals in F1 history. Therefore, I feel well equipped for this new challenge. »

Note that this announcement should have been made before the start of the season but was postponed due to the death of Lady “Ginny”, Claire's mother and Frank's wife. “It has been a sad month for my family and Williams as a business following the passing of my mother, but as the season settles in we must look to the future. It will be a privilege to play a part in a new chapter that I hope will be successful.”, concludes the new deputy team principal of the team.
