Coronavirus: no selfies or autograph sessions in Melbourne

Strange atmosphere on this 2020 arms vigil. While the Australian Grand Prix has always been a festive and joyful event, the mines in the paddock are off and the only subject that animates the conversations has a name that is now all too well known: Coronavirus, named after the epidemic that is worrying the planet.

We no longer shake hands, the rare pilots glimpsed fly by, and limit their contact with the outside world.

Therefore, we will not be surprised that the promoters of the event, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, have made two changes to the course of their weekend.

Autograph sessions have been replaced by Q&A sessions. Then, drivers will no longer stop to take selfies, sign autographs, or shake hands along the so-called Melbourne Walk which leads to the Australian paddock.
