Last October, the announcement of departure to Sebastian Vettel de Red Bull at the end of the season, was quickly followed by the formalization of the 20 year old Russian Daniil Kvyat to replace the German, who left for Italy and Team Ferrari. Before starting in 2015 on the future RB11, Kvyat admits to being rather confident.
“Helmut Marko and Christian Horner saw and appreciated my work. They had to make a choice and apparently they have confidence in my abilities, admits the former resident of the team Toro Rosso at Speedweek. I'm sure if they had doubts, I would have stayed at Toro Rosso in 2015 to gain more experience. In our sport, it is very difficult to predict what will happen. Right now, it's just words. I am confident and relaxed. But who knows what problems may await me. »
Kvyat will be the Australian's teammate Daniel Ricciardo in 2015 and knows that the Red Bull industry remains ruthless. “I want to make as few mistakes as possible, but at the same time I need to show what I can do. Let's see how things develop. If I can't do it, I won't have a seat in a top team for long. »
Kvyat will debut in the future car of Milton Keynes during the first winter tests next February, Red Bull having lined up Carlos Sainz Jr and Daniel Ricciardo during the end of season testing in Abu Dhabi last November.
