Dietrich Mateschitz: “No No. 1 driver”

The fin of discord made a big noise during the British round of the world championship of F1, further worsening relations between the two pilots Red Bull Racing. An internal war which could well penalize the Austrian team in the fight for world titles. Dietrich Mateschitz, the big boss, therefore wanted to iron out the differences somewhat and reaffirm the fact that there is no favoritism within his team, so that the entire team can focus again on its objective.

“If you ask me today who will be champion, I would tell you one of our two drivers, Mateschitz told the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung. This philosophy (favoritism, editor's note) is not in agreement with my way of seeing the competition. We do not have driver number 1 and driver number 2. Our two drivers have exactly the same car. The front wing problem at Silverstone was the first violation of this rule. »

Since Silverstone, Mark Webber said he reacted a little too violently, and had a discussion with Christian Horner. Let's hope for the Austrian team that this interview, plus the intervention of the big boss, will put an end to this story. McLaren and its drivers are in good shape. And to defeat them, Red Bull will need the mobilization of its entire workforce.
