Ecclestone defends himself after his indictment

The Gerhard Gribkowsky affair has not stopped following Bernie Ecclestone. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Munich public prosecutor's office has officially indicted the financier of the F1 by suspecting the director of the FOM of having paid more than 34 million euros for the sale of F1 commercial rights to CVC Partners. The accused always defended himself by asserting that this sum had been paid to the German banker sentenced to eight years in prison due to blackmail by the latter who threatened to denounce him to the British tax authorities.

Bernie Ecclestone is keeping his line of defense and does not feel ready to let go of the controls of the discipline. " It does not mean anything. The money I gave him has nothing to do with the sale of F1 shares. ", he replied in Bild. “I don’t think (this will force me to retire). Shareholders will have to decide. Forget this story. When my contract ends, they can replace me with whoever they want. All I know is that I'm innocent. The truth will eventually come to light. »
