Error accepted for Romain Grosjean

After Marcus Ericsson exited on lap seven with his Caterham at turn 3, the safety car was deployed, and the majority of drivers chose to dive into the pit lane to switch to slick tires. But the “fresh” track of the Hungaroring, maintaining the temperature of these tires was essential, which caused the loss of Romain Grosjean, made a mistake alone behind the Safety Car in the same place as Ericsson a few moments earlier.

“We did not finish today's race which is very disappointing, explains the Frenchman. The conditions on the circuit this afternoon were very delicate. We made the right choice to switch to slicks when the safety car came out but I made a mistake when I tried to keep the tires warm. Unfortunately, I hit the white line and spun. I feel sorry for everyone in the team who is giving their all to give me the best car. Hopefully these last two weeks of work and the summer break will help us move forward and come back stronger for the next race at Spa. »

Pastor Maldonado finished in 13th place, not without hitting Jules Bianchi's Marussia and causing a puncture for the Frenchman.
