Esteban Ocon: “Zandvoort is an old school circuit”

While Formula 1 moved to the Netherlands for the first time since 1985, Esteban Ocon did not hide his joy at rediscovering a route that he had the chance to know five years ago. “ This circuit is a great memory, it is incredible. He has character, a bit old school as we like as a driver. The good thing is that it's new for everyone in F1 »

With experience in DTM in Zandvoort, the Frenchman knows some of his particularities, including the famous banking which is causing so much talk as the Grand Prix looms. “ We go faster in this type of turn because there is more grip, explains the Norman. There is always a line faster than the others, that's the one you have to find. It's an interesting challenge »

And while the question of the possibility of overtaking on this track is asked by many drivers as the track is narrow and the turns are fast, the Norman has his own idea. “ Yes it is possible to overtake but I will keep the surprise of where we can do it, he jokes. Turn 1 seems to be the best possibility. In others, it's very risky but it can happen, a bit like in Budapest ». This is good since it was in Hungary that the Habs won their first victory in Formula 1.
