Fernando Alonso: “A price to pay”

26th round last Sunday, and Fernando Alonso caused a moment of panic in the pit lane when the double world champion almost knocked over his mechanics when he returned to the box. The Spaniard suffered a brake problem, caused here by a helmet visor protective film stuck in the disc. Despite this new abandonment, the former pilot Renault et Ferrari remains optimistic for the rest of the season.

“Progress is visible, quantifiable. Starting from a blank sheet, we can only progress. We started from the bottom and we climb, step by step, perhaps faster than some had imagined." explains Alonso who recalls that the project McLaren-Honda will still take some time to operate at full capacity.

“We are not lost, we know where to go and where we are going. There is only a price to pay to the youth of this program."
comments the Iberian driver, who believes that the points were within his reach over the weekend for his home event.
