Ferrari already eyeing Sebastian Vettel

Has Luca di Montezemolo just started lobbying to see one day Sebastian Vettel drive for Ferrari? The operation could take time but the Ferrari boss is stubborn. When he decided that a driver should race for the Team, he uses all means to achieve this.

Fernando Alonso knows something about it. Ferrari driver since the end of 2009, the Spaniard was announced in red every year for four years before discussions led to a real contract. But Ferrari likes drivers with proven talent and determination, and Alonso is one of them. Just like Vettel.

So, can the seduction operation work? For Luca di Montezemolo, the German pilot will be in his clan one day or another. “Sebastian is young, fast and skilled,” Montezemolo explains to the Cologne Express. Sooner or later he will drive a red car. »

Red Bull, well aware of having to protect his gifted youngster, has already laid down his groundwork. Dietrich Mateschitz had notably declared to Welt am Sonntag that he would try to make such a transfer “as difficult as possible”. But Ferrari's determination to secure his services, especially if Red Bull failed to guarantee the same level of performance at the level of its car. “We would let him go, even if he had a contract,” added Mateschitz, aware that Vettel is now a driver demanding the best equipment.
