Gasly and Verstappen in a kart on the ice

Red Bull recently held a promotional event with Pierre Gasly et Max Verstappen. The two starting drivers for the 2019 season of F1 within the Austrian team were invited to drive karts on the ice in the Netherlands, on the 3km track where the Dutchman trained.

“We had a lot of fun with Max riding side by side, comments the 2016 GP2 Series champion. It's very different from what you usually do on a classic F1 track and it's a good thing to have this kind of experience. I love running, I've loved it since I felt the adrenaline of competing in the World Championship of Karting and in the European Championship, but it was more of a day for fun and I loved doing it with Max. I think I should find something fun to do for him when he comes to France. »

“It was my first time karting on ice and it was pretty fast, added Max Verstappen. I think we exceeded 100 (km/h) in 6th gear, that's pretty good. I particularly liked the drifts even if I only really managed a few. It's a good way to start the season with Pierre. »
