Gerhard Berger to Renault F1

Gerhard Berger should, in all probability, join Renault F1 Team in 2010 as team manager. The former Austrian driver would join the Enstone team for which he drove for two seasons.

Gerhard Berger to Renault F1

Renault F1 Team had been looking for a team manager since the departure of Flavio Briatore and it seems that Gerhard Berger is in pole position to inherit the position in 2010. After the departure of the whimsical Italian, Renault had responded to the situation by appointing Bob Bell at the head of the stable, waiting for the end of the season to rework its organizational chart. After the purchase of part of the team's capital by Genii Capital, the team of?enstone should finalize its new organization by appointing a new team manager, a position which should therefore be inherited by Gerhard Berger.

The Austrian, who left the F1 seats in 1997, mainly drove for Ferrari but also for Benetton, which became Renault in 2002 after the acquisition of the Enstone team by the French manufacturer. Former co-owner of Toro Rosso, Gerhard Berger could thus return to Formula 1 with an important role: restoring bright colors to a team whose image was seriously damaged in 2009.
