Hamilton: “It’s never easy”

Lewis Hamilton will not have had to worry at the French GP. The championship leader offered himself his 4th consecutive victory by winning the French event for the second year in a row while remaining out of reach of his teammate Valtteri Bottas who could only secure a new double for Mercedes.

With a 36-point lead in the championship in the space of 8 Grands Prix, Lewis Hamilton has reason to be confident for the rest of the season, even if he affirms that each event is never easy for him.

“It’s never easy, said the winner of the French GP. I had to manage my tires throughout the second stint as I quickly had blisters on the front axle. However, I tried to get the best lap in the race for the bonus point. It was very hot in the car and I was relieved to be done. I never focus on championship points, I prefer to look at lap times. These are the only numbers that interest me. »

Lewis Hamilton also expressed his disappointment with the Paul-Ricard circuit, even if the track suits Mercedes well.

“I love the south of France, it’s a very pleasant place at this time of year. But I like this circuit less because of its gigantic runoff zones. It feels like we're driving in the desert, we need a little grass on the side of the track." added the five-time world champion.
