Hamilton: “I always preferred motorcycles to cars”

Lewis Hamilton took advantage of the holidays to treat himself to a day of motorcycle riding last Sunday as part of the World Superbike where he competed on the Jerez circuit (Spain) alongside Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark. The pilot Mercedes took the handlebars of a Yamaha R1.

The least we can say is that the five-time world champion seems to have enjoyed the experience, even if it meant offending certain sensitivities in motorsport.

“I woke up today feeling amazing. I already miss the superbike. For your information, I have always preferred two wheels to four wheels. I've always wanted a motorcycle since I was a kid, but I'm really grateful to my dad who put me on a go-kart. But my new love is racing on track on my motorcycle. »

“I have the greatest respect for these bikers. It is a truly different discipline but requires some similar skills such as time, patience, courage, concentration, agility and risk-taking. This is all that makes this sport so exciting. Yes, I love motorcycle racing, but these guys are on another level and I think I'll just enjoy it by chasing the limits of the track.", commented Lewis Hamilton after his test.

Lewis Hamilton ended his comment by requesting Valentino Rossi, the six-time champion of MotoGP, for a meeting in his stronghold in Italy.
