Fifteen months after his arrival at Brackley, George Russell spoke exclusively in Baku about his new status, his ambitions and especially his relationship with his legendary teammate Lewis Hamilton, over whom he seems to have gained the upper hand on the track.

George, you are a Grand Prix winner, you took your team's only pole and only victory last year. Do you feel that you are looked at differently internally now, compared to when you arrived fifteen months ago?

No, I do not think so. I have had a great relationship with the team since the very beginning. As with all drivers joining a new team, you must earn each other's respect. It takes time, but I was lucky that it went pretty quickly. We of course had bigger problems with the car which meant that we were mainly busy looking for solutions to improve ourselves. I really integrated very easily.
