The FIA ​​is restructuring after the wave of departures which has affected it for several weeks. First recruitment to date: Jan Monchaux as technical director of the department Single seat. The Franco-German engineer, former technical director ofAlfa Romeo – Sauber until 2023, succeeds Tim Goss in this key role within the International Automobile Federation. He will report to Nikolas Tombazis, Monoplace director since 2018.

In his role, Jan Monchaux will supervise the single-seater technical department, which deals with current technical issues of the Formula 1 as well as future technical regulations. He will be responsible for developing the future F1 technical regulations for 2026, eagerly awaited by the manufacturers involved.

Before his experience at Sauber, the 45-year-old engineer had numerous adventures in motorsport, especially in Formula 1. The Blésois started at Toyota, between 2002 and 2009, before joining the aerodynamic department of Ferrari between 2010 and 2012. At the beginning of 2013, he joined Audi Sport and its LM P1 program in WEC, before returning to Formula 1 with Sauber in 2018.
