“I can finally breathe”, Albon savors his first podium

He missed it by a whisker in Brazil last year and in Austria last July but this podium, Alexander albon finally picked it up. This Sunday, the pilot Red Bull went there for the very first time in his young career after finishing the Tuscan Grand Prix in third position behind the Mercedes.

« Yes, yes I am relieved (to be on the podium). It took me a while to get here! It was tough today. It feels good to be there. I can finally breathe » smiled Albon before going to collect his trophy.

And this podium, the teammate of Max Verstappen went to get it himself. Certainly he benefited from the numerous retirements and the turn of the race but the Thai also showed on the track that he was ready to climb on one of the three steps.

« I didn't get a good start so I had to do most of my overtaking in the race. Our brakes worked very well here, we knew that since Friday. This allowed me to carry out all these maneuvers during the race. It was fun to drive ».

Under pressure lately regarding his continuity at Red Bull, Alexander Albon gives himself some breathing room thanks to this podium in Tuscany. What to save your skin within the Austrian team? Only the future will tell us…
