Jenson Button: “Starting from scratch”

Two Grands Prix were enough for the Briton to chase away the specters of too long a winter. Two victories which rekindle the embers of a Buttonmania that we thought was definitively extinguished. Words of Phoenix.

Jenson Button: “Starting from scratch”

Two Grands Prix, two victories! Did you expect such an introduction?
We expected to be in the mix, but certainly not to score two victories. It probably sounds a little wrong today, but getting to Q3 in qualifying was our primary objective. It's been so long! Today, what surprises me the most is that we imposed ourselves in such difficult conditions. The Safety Car in Melbourne and the weather conditions in Sepang could have made everything collapse.

Surprised, all the same, by the extreme competitiveness of the Brawn?
We must not forget that the GP001 does not come from a wooden cabin at the bottom of a garden but from a factory which is certainly one of the most impressive in the world. F1. This is also the first time that the staff? as talented as underrated? of the stable was able to work together closely. Even before the first tests, there was this certainty that the car was good. But how good? In Melbourne and Sepang we proved that we could win. That's one less thing to worry about. Now we have to make sure we continue to develop the car because we can feel the breath of our competitors down our necks?
