THEAlpine A521 experienced an “uneventful” burn-in at Silverstone

Unsurprisingly, it was gray, cold and wet this Wednesday at Silverstone. In a world that is upside down, it feels good to be able to cling to sure values.

Wheras'Aston Martin launched its AMR21 into the world, the French team had reserved the British GP theater to give its new A521 its test run as part of a promotional shoot limited to 100 kilometers by the regulations.

Fernando Alonso not having been able to make the trip to the United Kingdom, his teammate Esteban Ocon, who revealed the colors of his new helmet a little earlier, willingly complied with the exercise.

« The shakedown went off without a hitch, which is always a good sign, commented technical director Pat Fry in the evening. We managed to carry out the targeted taxiing on a dry track, between the morning fog and the showers of the day.

We did not encounter any major problems. We always come across one or another little teething problem. But overall, everything went smoothly and we were able to complete the established program. ».

Next stop: Bahrain and winter testing from March 12 to 14.
