The weather is not in favor of the Chinese GP. The first day of testing in Shanghai only allowed the drivers to complete a handful of laps on the wet track, the second test session having been completely canceled due to the fog not ensuring optimal safety.
The weather forecast for this Sunday, April 9 is not optimistic either, with the risk of showers being very high. Rain often forces race management to display the red flag in bad weather or to delay the start of Grands Prix.
Stables F1 therefore discussed with the race management the possibility of bringing the race forward to this Saturday, April 8, as the weather should be more clement on that date.
If the proposal could make it possible to compete in the event in good conditions, it would be surprising if such a decision were taken. There are indeed many parameters to take into account, particularly in terms of the media and the TV channels broadcasting the race.
