Jules Bianchi's father speaks

Jules Bianchi has been hospitalized for five days at the Yokkaichi University Hospital in Japan following his serious accident at Suzuka where he crashed into a towing vehicle which was intervening to evacuate Adrian Sutil's Sauber. The Marussia driver suffers fromdiffuse axonal injury and remains in intensive care in a stable but very serious condition.

Philippe Bianchi, the father of the 25-year-old Frenchman, spoke to Nice Matin after arriving in Japan. “There is no noticeable change. Everyone knows that he is in a critical phase. Jules fights like he's always fought... Like in a race. .. Jules' great friend, Jean-Eric Vergne made a really nice gesture by having a special sticker produced which will be stuck on all the single-seaters, F1, GP2 and GP3, in Sochi… Difficult to talk about a racing event. To me, it looks more like a traffic accident. Depending on what happens, I'll probably have things to say later. »
