The return of Michael Schumacher

Retired since the end of the 2006 season, Michael Schumacher should make his return to a starting grid of F1 in Valencia during the European Grand Prix.

The German, aged 40, must still pass physical tests for this commitment to be validated. “He will follow specific training,” confirms the Team in a press release. “At the end of this preparation, it will be possible to confirm its participation in the European Grand Prix on August 23. »

If Schumacher proves capable of taking on the physical challenge, he will replace Felipe Massa until his return.

“I spoke on the phone with Stefano Domenicali and Luca di Montezemolo this afternoon. We decided, together, that I was going to prepare to replace Felipe. Even though I moved away from Formula 1, I could not ignore the situation. As a competitor, I am looking forward to this challenge,” Michael Schumacher said on his website.
