Pirelli's 400 Grands Prix in figures

He was one of the pioneers. On May 13, 1950, Pirelli equipped the winner of the first Grand Prix in history at Silverstone, Giuseppe Farina, in a Alfa Romeo. The one who finally won the title at the end of the season victoriously launched the manufacturer's adventure in Formula 1.

Since then, Pirelli has competed in 399 races, achieved 240 victories, 243 pole positions, 247 fastest laps in a race and 727 places on the Formula 1 podium. Since 2011, the Milanese firm has remained the sole manufacturer of the discipline.

By digging into the figures, Pirelli reminds us of the highest top speed in its history achieved by Valtteri Bottas at the 2016 Mexican Grand Prix, 372,5 km/h, and the oldest winner in the race, a certain Luigi Fagioli in 1951 on an Alfa Romeo at the age of 53.

The 400th race in Pirelli's history, Bahrain marks an important milestone for the manufacturer, which has been an integral part of motorsport for more than 110 years, after winning the 1907 Beijing-Paris. It begins its final season with 13 tires inches, before launching the 18-inch era next year.
