Lewis Hamilton's woes in Hungary

Lewis Hamilton was battling with teammate Jenson Button for victory in Hungary. The two pilots McLaren engaged in a magnificent battle, where Lewis Hamilton took the advantage before going through the pits to put on intermediate tires which proved to be penalizing. The Briton finally failed at the foot of the podium after taking the lead over Mark Webber (Red Bull).

The German GP winner says he was suffering from radio problems before his pit stop. “I was having radio problems, I could hear my engineers but they couldn't hear me”, explains the 2008 World Champion. “I heard them tell me that it was starting to rain and they chose to put me on intermediate tires. But the tires didn't work, it wasn't the best strategy but that's part of motorsport. »

Lewis Hamilton?s ordeal continued with a drive-through inflicted for forcing Paul di Resta off the track when the McLaren driver returned to the circuit after a spin. “I made a big mistake. My left front tire was well worn and I went wide at the chicane before spinning. I really have to apologize to Paul di Resta. I hadn't seen him and I didn't realize he was there. I congratulate Jenson (Button), he attacked me throughout the race. The best won today. »
