Like last year, the Red Bull Ring will host two races Formula 1 this season. The opportunity for the teams to run the reserve drivers. This is the case ofAlfa Romeo who took advantage of this Austrian “double-header” to give the wheel of the C41 to Robert Kubica and Callum Ilott.

Robert Kubica will take Kimi Raïkkönen's place at next week's Styrian Grand Prix. The Polish driver had already replaced the Finn during FP1 in Spain.

“I can’t wait to get back in the car next weekend. The team has made great progress, relates Kubica. I know how important it is to keep the momentum going and I am ready to play my role fully over the next two weekends in Austria.”

Callum Ilott will replace Antonio Giovinazzi during the Austrian Grand Prix, a week after Styria on the same Red Bull Ring track. This is the second time that the English driver will take the wheel of the Alfa Romeo, after FP1 of the Portuguese Grand Prix.

“This is the second FP1 for me this season and it will be a good opportunity to help the team and continue the good work done in Portugal, says the young Briton. Already knowing the team and the car will help me extract the maximum from the car. In addition to that, we will have the data from the first week in Austria so we will have a real basis to work from.”

As a reminder, the Styrian Grand Prix will take place from Friday June 25 to Sunday June 27, 2021, while the Austrian Grand Prix will take place from Friday July 02 to Sunday July 04, 2021.
