Lewis Hamilton: “A good omen before the last two rounds”

There was joy on the face of Lewis Hamilton, a radiant and necessarily happy face, but no effusion yet. The Briton knows it, it is in Jeddah (December 5) and Abu Dhabi (December 12) that the championship title will be played out. This victory in Qatar is only a step in his comeback which should allow him to dislodge Max Verstappen from the lead in the championship.

Questioned by Jenson Button after the race, the seven-time world champion was already projected towards the two rounds scheduled for December. “I'm really happy with the points I got todayhe confided. We're having a hell of a year. Winning two races in a row is a great feeling, and it bodes well before the last two rounds of the season. I feel good, the car is great, and I feel fitter than ever. Looking forward to the last two rounds”, he blurted out with an appetite that we could easily guess.

More than eight points difference with Verstappen

After his usual thanks to the crowd present in the stands of the Losail circuit, Lewis Hamilton was very confused when analyzing the race. “I can't wait to see the replay of this race to see what happened behind me, he said mischievously. I was rather alone at the front. Of course, I love races where there is a tough battle, but we needed the points today.”

Thanks to his second place and the point for the fastest lap in the race, Max Verstappen remains eight points ahead of Lewis Hamilton at the top of the championship. A good result for the Dutchman who was ordered to start from 7th position after receiving a penalty of five places on the grid. The fight promises to be intense between the two men in Jeddah (December 5), in two weeks.
