Manor recruits Will Stevens and targets Melbourne

Manor F1, formerly Marussia, would it get closer to the starting grid in Melbourne, Australia on March 15? The stable, which had found a deal for the end of its placement under judicial administration last week, has just made it official the British Will Stevens, 23 years old, seen last year racing in Abu Dhabi for the short-lived return of Caterham, and former Marussia reserve driver, as first driver.

“It's very exciting to see everything that's happening at Manor after the huge effort that went into saving the team,
says Stevens. This would not have been possible without the incredible support we have received from all the suppliers and also from within the sport, but above all thanks to the fantastic team of people at Manor who work tirelessly to ensure that we are ready for Melbourne. »

Manor also specifies that its car is at an advanced stage of construction at the Dinnington premises in Great Britain. “Staff are working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, towards the air cargo shipping date of March 24. With 6 days to go until the curtain rises on the Australian Grand Prix, Manor is now in a position to be able to provide regular updates on its preparations ahead of Melbourne and wider plans for the season, including including finalizing its driver line-up. » explains the team in its press release.

Let us also remember that the Team Principal of the Team Ferrari Maurizio Arrivabene had indicated that Manor could potentially count on the supply of a V6 turbo / hybrid version 2014.
